about

Exploring the intricate connections between lyricism in poetry and music and diving into the artistry behind the words that resonate with us.

death of a rabbit is a multi-medium, multifaceted art journal inspired by the written word. Focusing predominantly on the prose of music, death of a rabbit highlights unique and innovative songwriters across genre boundaries. The web-based publication also highlights writing submissions from its readers, composing a blog diverse in style, medium, and perspective. A BIPOC and queer-friendly publication, death of a rabbit aims to celebrate the sheer multiplicity of prose and the voices behind it. From poetry to short stories, songs to novels, death of a rabbit offers something for everyone.

Writing is expanded upon by death of a rabbit through its uniquely multi-media focus. An emphasis on music adds a sonic element to the written word, and prompts the exploration of further creative formats in concert photography, artist interviews, and track dissections. In the future, death of a rabbit aims to publish physical zines to further build upon the world of literature, with regular editions including a variety of writing and artwork from diverse voices united by a throughline focusing on a particular experience, identity, or theme.

A publication by artists and for artists, death of a rabbit aims to help provide aspiring writers with a platform, as well as support rising artists who’ve demonstrated unique creative capabilities, while championing an overall DIY ethos throughout the creative process.
